The Proclamations of the
Three Angels of Revelation: The first angel -- Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth - to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people - saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgement is come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water." Rev 14 : 6,7 NKJV |
The second angel -- And another angel followed, saying, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication." Rev 14 : 8 NKJV
The third angel -- And a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." Rev 14 : 9-11 NKJV

The meaning of the proclamations:
The first angel -- Judgement is unavoidable, regardless of what you believe or have been told. It comes quickly and to every inhabitant on earth. Turn from sin, repent, (we are all sinners) and worship God, the creator.
The second angel -- Babylon was a historic city that was symbolic of current prosperity and apostasy combined. In our society the trend of ignoring God's law, and the relentless pursuit of prosperity at any cost is the result of following the doctrine (wine) of the false 'prosperity gospel' that originated in that city. Today all nations subscribe to this philosophy as this message is pervasive and unceasing.
The third angel -- Punishment is the unavoidable result of 'receiving this mark' and its effects are eternal (meaning permanent, not ongoing). The beast is often believed to be Satan but with the inclusion of his image, it also includes the systems he has established to cause this and includes both political and religious components. This mark does not need to be a physically obvious symbol (or chip) but refers to thinking (forehead) and acting in accordance (hand) with the requirements or demands of these systems. Being in alignment with the ideology and complying with its demands is represented by the drinking of the wine and results in receiving the eternal punishment that God has prescribed for those who accept the mark. The torment in the presence of the Lamb (Jesus) at judgement is the anguish of realizing the many opportunities each has been supplied with to turn from sin and towards Jesus for the forgiveness He offers.

What Does This Mean for Me?
The news is full of evidence that the close of time and final judgement is at hand. Thousand-year floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, the dictatorial rule of nearly all governments, pestilences (pandemics), and wars with rumors of wars... Never before have all of the Bible warnings been so pervasive and obvious. Matthew chapter 24 outlines all of this evidence and highlights the prominence that deception will take. We are experiencing a level of deception from virtually every corner of modern society in a manner thought impossible by most even just a few years ago. The first thing one should do is to seriously consider the warnings issued over two thousand years ago to us, and the next thing is to honestly appraise one's conduct and beliefs. The next step is to communicate with an Adventist pastor about your concerns and for personalized guidance on how to best proceed. It is probably not too late to do this but it must not be delayed as the pace of time accelerates at the end and there is much preparation to be done to build the foundation, through Jesus, to withstand the coming calamity.
